Which Headset is Right for You?

Headsets are a staple in the workplace. Whether you work in a bustling open-plan office or from your living room, having the right headset can make or break your working experience. The options out there are endless—we’ve narrowed down a few options for you. Depending on your needs and space, one of these may be great for you!

Jabra Evolve 75 ($279)

The Jabra Evolve 75 is a high-quality headset made to be worn all day in the office. You’ll hardly remember you’re wearing a headset as you jump between your playlist and phone meetings. With 15 hours of talk time (30-hour battery life), optional noise-canceling, quality sound, and comfort, this headset is hard to beat.

The possible downsides of this option will depend on your style and your wallet. This headset is a little bulky, both on your ears and on your desk. It’s also the most expensive pair on our list at $279.

Logitech H800 ($59.99)

Logitech offers a variety of office headsets. The H800 is an office-grade, wireless headset that won’t break your bank (priced at $59.99). It’s ranked high for comfort, has a 6-hour battery life, and has adequate audio and mic quality.

This might be a great option for you if you need a budget-friendly headset for your home office to get you through an afternoon of conference calls.

Jabra Storm Bluetooth ($84.99)

If you’re a fan of the typical, one-eared, Bluetooth device rather than bulky headsets, try out the Jabra Storm Bluetooth. This piece has the combination of a good price ($84.99) and good quality. You will get 9 hours of talk time, noise-canceling (while still leaving one ear open so you can be aware of what is going on around you), and the option to pair with multiple devices at once. You can stream music through your computer and still pick up a phone call without having to switch your pairing.

Airpods ($169)

Apple’s Airpods are a great set of headphones for both work and play. They pair with any Bluetooth-enabled device, are discreet and take up very little room (both on your ears and on your desk). They’re perfect for listening to music and have an excellent mic for calls. The biggest plus of the Airpods is their versatility. If you want one pair of headsets for both your afternoon meetings and music for your evening dog walk, this is the option for you.

Airpods do have a slightly lower battery life compared to many of the sets built for a full day of meetings. You will get 5 hours of music and 3 hours of talk time. This pair will set you back about $169.

Miiego Freedom wireless headset ($146.99)

Miiego’s Freedom Wireless Headset is made for the active person. Primarily for runners, hikers, or bikers, this headset’s quality sound and microphone make it surprisingly useful for conference calls as well as active music listening. You will get 11 hours of battery life, a comfortable, stable fit, and weather resistance. This headset is good for those of us who want a good product for both running and for home office meetings.

If you’re working in a loud office space, you may want to explore other options—this headset does not have a noise-canceling feature. Expect to spend around $150 for the Freedom Wireless.

Start with these suggestions and explore other options to find the best headset for your needs.
